saiki k cat tank episode is so funny. imagine you get kidnapped by an evil scientist who brainwashes you to hate your powerful psychic friend (so that you'll attack him). and then the friend in question shows up to rescue you and there's a big dramatic showdown where the scientist tries to kill him with a tank. he ultimately fails but then your friend decides he didn't deserve the win (???) and makes a huge personal sacrifice, complete with a heartfelt goodbye to you. but actually the scientist lied about the stakes (?????) so the whole thing was pointless (so he tried to kill him with a tank for no reason????????). and then it turns out they were brothers the whole time. insane

teruhashi X fem reader pls 🙏🙏🙏 can be anything from a proper fic to just headcanons I'm so desperate 😭😭😭💥💥💥
ღTeruhashi as your girlfriend
ʚContent: fem! reader, fluff
⤑Back to navigation
a/n yo schools been kicking my ass but FINALLY its here!! i did a little mix of both headcanons and small fics, hope you enjoy!! :))
Tumblr media
Teruhashi is literally so so so sweet
sweetest gf EVER
she gives me "best friends to lovers"
literally connected right away
you know the classic, you're new to school and need to make new friends, well Teruhashi being the open and friendly person she is, walked up to you!
You're sitting at your new desk when suddenly the most stunning girl you had ever seen stood in front of you. "Hi there! I'm Teruhashi, let's be friends!"
And obviously how could you say no to someone like her. To your surprise, you both connected almost immediately, whether it was because you had similar interests or because you complimented each other. Either way, you became attached by the hip!
Being around Teruhashi naturally made you a pretty popular person and by the week everyone knew who you were.
With this popularity, you were prone to constant love confessions
which made Teruhashi jealous but she didn't know it yet
at first she thought it's because she's jealous of the confessions you receive
but it's not until you go on a date with a guy that she realized it's because she wants you for herself!
she had a little bit of a hard time accepting these feelings but once she did, she became 10 times more attached
though now, everything you did flustered her
she definitely confessed by accident, while she was thinking about doing it for a while now, she never had the guts to do it until it accidentally slipped out
"How come you never go on dates Kokomi? I'm sure there must've been someone who's caught your eye by now"
"There is someone, though I don't think they like me"
You were baffled at this, someone not liking her? Impossible!
"No way! I don't believe that, there's not one person who could possibly not like you"
"It's true!"
You kept it going until Teruhashi snapped, taking you by surprise.
"I know they don´t like me back because that person is you!"
She seemed surprised by her own words as well because she quickly covered her mouth, her eyes as wide as saucers. Though yours probably looked the same.
"I...I´m so sorry I did not mean to say that, I -"
You cut her off by pressing a tentative kiss to her lips.
You can imagine how the rest goes
After this y´all started dating and became THE couple of the school
for the most part your relationship stayed the same expect you were much more affectionate with each ohter!
LOTS of shopping dates
Teruhashi is your number 1 hype girl
her love language is physical touch, it doesn´t matter where you are, she always has her hand somewhere on you
if you have a similar size, you´re ALWAYS sharing clothes
your fashion styles end up mixing up
now you have your own unique styles!
in general all of your dates are super cute and fun
there´s not one single moment where either of you aren´t having fun with each other
her brother definetly had a hard time accepting your relationship BUT, once he did you were basically a part of the family
also, your periods sync up
because of this, you both spend the day cuddling each other and being each others warmth
it may not seem like it, but shes super attentive to your wants and needs and basically knows you like the back of her hand
always has the things you like in her backpack in case you ever crave them!
SO SO SO many cute nicknames and sweet words!! never fails to make you feel flustered
but shes just as easy to fluster
it doesn´t matter if you´ve been dating for a couple months or years, the butterflies never go away
she´s both your best friend and lover and your biggest supporter and confidant and there´s nothing as perfect and wonderful as that
Teruhashi supremacy >>>>

I love the “cold guy is actually a huge softie on the inside" trope, not in the “omg he’s giving me his jacket while refusing to make eye contact with me aww he really does care” way but in the “holy crap he brainwashed the entire planet to get me out of trouble and none of us noticed wth” way

smth I've never even seen discussed but find extremely interesting is that kobayakawa IS a member of the conspiracy. like, he seems pretty low-level, but he's involved enough that shido and the siu director want him taken out
ofc, that's partially due to the phantom thieves, but at this point they've already decided they don't want the thieves caught. he's taken out because he knows too much.
also, it seems like shido got word about the thieves immediately after it happened and instantly connected it to the metaverse. obvs everyone brings up that he's having a meeting at the wilson while the thieves are there, but... the tv station president responds really weirdly when a normal employee says it's "impossible to change someone like that"
also I personally think it's very likely that kobayakawa was told to accept joker bc of shido. simply bc its weird as fucking hell that the only school that would accept him just so happened to have connections to the guy who framed him for assault
I don't think kobayakawa knew anything about cog psi, or even that akechi was connected. but it's just really interesting because the game itself kinda glosses over how connected kobayakawa probably was

Since people liked my post about the new Nosferatu film, I’m gonna go a little more in depth about some of the things that REALLY stood out to me
- The sound design of his voice and the blood drinking: a fucking genius choice. Each horrific rattling inhale before he speaks and the way he trails off at the end of his sentences because he’s manually breathing for the EXPRESS PURPOSE OF SPEAKING. That monotone is fucking perfect because he sound like the air is being squeezed out of him with each word. The monstrous gulping and slurping as he drinks blood is great because it sounds equal parts disgusting and sexual.
- I think, as a personification of shame, that he is SUPPOSED to make you want to crawl out of your own skin. The moaning, the nudity, the squelchy sounds… if you went to the cinema to see it, I think the idea was to make you blush and perhaps have a bit of a bodily reaction that would have you glancing around at other people in embarrassment. Not everybody is going to want him, but he will tap into the shame of witnessing something sexual in public. If we take the particular time period the film is set in, too, I think he’s supposed to have us clutching our pearls, making us collectively hearken back to the victorian attitudes towards sex and shame.
- You know what else is great about putting us in that mindset as an audience? It makes us remember that talking about sex and death are still considered shameful and taboo - the Victorian period really wasn’t that long ago, and some aspects of that history still casts its shadow of shame over us. But as ashamed as we are, we’re also curious creatures.
- Sex and death are very closely linked. Again, a little death being a term for an orgasm, the fact that indole is a chemical that both repels and attracts us (the scent is commonly used in perfumery, and in small amounts, smells alluring and seductive, like white florals, or the literal smell of sex, but in large concentrations smells fucking rancid, like rotting bodies). When we die, our brains release a rush of endorphins, etc. Dead bodies have a ‘sweet’ smell before they begin rotting - again, that’s probably indole, and would explain some of the subconscious urges of a necrophiliac.
- He is also called ‘death’ multiple times, and we know that a little fraction of his power is bringing ‘la petit mort’ (a little death / orgasm) to his victims.
- Even rats are symbolic here of sex, death and disease: we know terms like ‘multiplying like rats’ obviously, and how rats are symbolic of the plague (even though it was the fleas that caused it). The presence of the rats and the cries of townsfolk about ‘disease’ and ‘plague’ are less like the actual literal plague, and - considering that Orlok is ‘shame’ - more like a metaphorical miasma sweeping through victorian society, reinforcing ideas of shame and purity and what is or is not proper.
- Bodily fluids!! There are tears, there’s cum, considering the rats (again) there’s excrement (also on the walls of the cell in the asylum??), and with the Renfield-type character there’s also saliva. This isn’t just for shock/horror - the main fluid shown is blood, and in the mindset of a victorian christian (historically, blood transfusions could only really be shared between a man and a woman who were married because blood was a life-giving bodily fluid likened to the life-sowing fluid of semen), the idea of a blood-drinking monster was fucking horrific and blasphemous, sinful beyond measure.
- Orlok’s appearance and the treatment of the G*psies in the town (once more - “bringing shame to this inn!” Likening them to the vampire) is indicative of the xenophobia and prejudice towards Romani Jewish people of the time period, where white victorian christians feared Romani people as being ‘child-stealing’, ‘blood-drinking’ (again, look up Blood Libel) barbarians prone to SA (stereotypes which sadly persist today), but also fetishised them as mystics. (I did my university dissertation on ‘boho’ tattoos, cultural appropriation and the origins of the ‘boho’ aesthetic and why it is just ✨not it✨ but I won’t go into that in depth because my analysis was literally over 5000 words)
- I love that the message at the end was basically ‘the only way to kill your shame is to lay with it, to accept it and love it’ - which is honestly true. If you learn to accept uncomfortable aspects of yourself and face them, they no longer have any sort of power over you.
- The female protagonist is dressed all in white, indicative of her purity and chastity, and it’s interesting to see how her wardrobe gradually darkens throughout the film, showing her becoming quite monstrous herself in one particular scene where she rips open the top of her dress and demands Thomas to ‘take her’, up until the final scene, where she is stark naked and covered in blood. Honestly wicked. I love a good corruption. Her character is so symbolic of the struggle of someone who is deeply repressed and chastised for her desires. Desires which started innocently and then - through suppression in an oppressive society and household (her father discovering her naked and screaming at her for being sinful)- were twisted and given form as something monstrous that literally eats away at her and those around her, because she brings her shame wherever she goes, and in the end, even though she faces it and sets an example, it ultimately kills her to do so.
- Also notice how NOBODY fucking listens to her. And every time nobody listens to her, Orlok grows stronger as she grows angrier and more frustrated. They’re feeding him by ignoring her. It’s sad that they look at her in the end, and deem her ‘sacrifice’ as noble, only really paying attention to her once she is dead, with her shame laying on top of her, crushing her. This is the torment of the Victorian Woman, told that she must deal with her problems alone by the male characters.
Edit: Also because the film is German in origin, I’d recommend looking up the ‘Nachzehrer’ creature - a ghoulish vampire-esque creature that would rise from the grave to drag its victims into death with it through various means, known to devour its own funeral shroud, rendering it naked. Fun fact: it was said that if a corpse was clutching its left thumb in its right hand with the left eye open (I think? It’s been a while since I researched it), it would rise as a Nachzehrer. They are also thought to be able to drain their victim’s life force remotely. The threat was said to be particularly great if the living gave the Nachzehrer a personal affectation - in the case of Orlok, it would be Thomas giving him the locket containing Ellen’s hair.

Your posts make me miss Ivo even more 😭
no but it's the way ivo's route truly has me clawing my own face off like ??? the consistent theme of ivo selflessly giving and giving to lou literally from the moment they meet with the sunglasses and the ballet ticket and the ice pack and the tablet with harry potter movies AND HIS JACKET? the simple but beautiful intimacy of their growing bond over music? the comfort and lowkey domisticty of lou's now constant perch on his couch while he's at his desk working not even guarding him but basically just keeping him company? the way she has him so weak for her at this point that he literally BEGS her to take her meds and take care of herself? THE WAY THEY HAVE NOT TOUCHED ONCE BUT ALREADY THEIR EMOTIONAL BOND HAS GROWN SO STRONG?

Writing Notes: Parasocial Relationship
Tumblr media
Parasocial Interaction (PSI) - semblance of interpersonal exchange whereby members of an audience come to feel that they personally know a performer they have encountered in mass media.
Parasocial Relationship (PSR) - generally defined as a relationship in which one member of the relationship isn’t aware of the other—e.g., a fan loves a celebrity, but the celebrity doesn’t know they exist. Not restricted to celebrities, PSRs also exist between people and fictional characters, whether portrayed by an actor or not.
PSRs tend to occur because of our natural tendency to link to others.
PSIs are thought to have a psychological effect similar to that of face-to-face communication.
Over time, PSIs with a performer may lead audience members to develop a parasocial relationship—a one-sided sense of connection with the performer.
The first examinations of parasocial relationships came in the 1950s, when psychologists tried to understand how television viewers reacted to the hosts, MCs, and TV personalities speaking to them directly out of the screen—a novel concept at the time.
It caused concern that viewers at home wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the relationships they had with a television personality and ones they had with “real” people— “victim[s] of the 'magic mirror'” as Richard Horton and Donald Wohl described in the 1956 paper.
The term parasocial interaction first appeared in the writings of American sociologists Donald Horton and R. Richard Wohl in the 1956 article “Mass Communication and Para-Social Interaction: Observations on Intimacy at a Distance.” The article describes how PSIs may gradually lead to the formation of a parasocial relationship.
Most theoretical work attempting to define and differentiate PSIs and parasocial relationships was published in the latter half of the 20th century.
Generally, modern sociologists and media theorists agree that the concepts are distinct but deeply related.
The Parasocial Interaction Scale, devised in the 1980s in order to better quantify PSIs and parasocial relationships, asks subjects to answer questions about both phenomena.
PSIs occur when audience members feel that they are actively interacting with a mass media personality.
Human brains appear to process PSIs in much the same way as real-life interpersonal interactions because of the novelty of technologically mediated encounters.
While people do recognize the artificiality of the media apparatus, their perception of PSIs causes a real psychological reaction.
PSIs are strongest when a media personality cultivates the illusion of interpersonal intimacy.
Certain genres, programs, and celebrities have purposely fostered such a sense of intimacy in their tone and setting.
For example, TV talk shows have their hosts directly address the camera as if in conversation with each viewer, creating the illusion of face-to-face closeness.
Situation comedies manufacture familial settings that viewers grow more and more accustomed to.
Certain podcasts and radio shows—especially those crafted around one or more hosts—adopt an informal tone resembling that of a gathering of friends.
As PSIs become increasingly frequent, many audience members enter into a parasocial relationship built on comfort, satisfaction, and commitment.
In contrast, Horton and Wohl posited, people whose encounters with mass media figures are infrequent may feel detached and even cynical when they do encounter those figures.
Indeed, the researchers suggested, audience members must tune in regularly and of their own volition for the relationship to become parasocial.
Such relationships bridge genre and style. In one key study, researchers found that commitment levels (measured on a scale used for interpersonal relationships) for viewers of both fictional and nonfictional television programs were predicted by how invested the viewers were.
Consequently, when a program went off the air, committed viewers experienced higher levels of distress, dubbed a “parasocial breakup,” than uncommitted viewers.
Audience members often have a parasocial relationship with the same celebrity without feeling jealous of one another; in fact, in many cases, sharing their dedication to a mass media persona brings people closer together.
While parasocial relationships can enrich your life, these one-sided affairs can also hurt you.
They won't love you back. "They're like fake food. They taste good, but they have no nutritional content and won't meet your needs. You need to love and be loved in return to thrive," social scientist and professor Arthur C. Brooks says.
They might contribute to loneliness and isolation if you rely on them too much. Loneliness and isolation are linked to increased risks of many chronic health problems such as depression, anxiety, dementia, and heart disease, and even premature death.
They might have a negative influence on you. Are you picking up unhealthy ideas from the people you follow? Brooks says this should be a special concern for parents whose kids have parasocial relationships: The messages kids glean might be at odds with your values — perhaps because they are controversial political or adult themes.
Two red alerts:
Ask yourself if you're too attached. For example, are you skipping dinner with friends because you prefer watching a TV show with a character you care about and want to connect with?
Be wary. "If someone is trying to brainwash you, saying, 'I'm your friend, you can trust me,' that person is using a personal social bond to get you to do something — like vote a certain way," Brooks says. He points out that social media stars try to establish parasocial relationships with followers to get more clicks and make money. "That's what the new economy is all about — monetizing parasocial relationships on a mass scale," Brooks says.
A PSR that starts with healthy boundaries, can turn sour when a mob mentality forms, resulting in harassment.
PSRs are natural and not inherently unhealthy.
But, as Stever says, “Anything that can be true about a regular social relationship can be true about a parasocial relationship. Are they positive? Can they be good for us? Absolutely. Can they be negative? Can they be toxic for us? We all know examples of that.”

I was wondering if you could write a saiki & reader oneshot fic with a reader who has DID & C-PTSD and paranoid tendencies? I understand that that might be a bit too hard to write but just in case I got some recorces that might be handy, here is the link to DID listing from my own copy of the newest version of the DSM https://www.dropbox.com/sh/htaraej65e34tg9/AADBATmelRQFUBfTMxaJ3W6wa?dl=0 as well as this website that has a lot of good info on it https://did-research.org/ and this page I found that has a brief overview of C-PTSD https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/24881-cptsd-complex-ptsd but I also recommend quickly reading thru the different types of flashbacks (shouldn't be that hard to find info on)
The main idea is that because of the mix dissociation, switching, paranoia, different types of flashbacks etc that the readers thoughts are very fucking confusing to saiki (feel free to use this premise for any kind of plot you want just try not to make it overly angsty is all I ask, well as un-angsty as you can get with C-PTSD anyways lol) I just wanna see more y/n / reader inserts that I can actually relate to but the saiki K fandom is so small
Can be platonic or romantic
Hi!! So sorry for the late reply, I researched as much as I could so if theres anything remotely wrong or different please tell me! Ngl, im not very sure i like how it turned out, nevertheless I hope you enjoy :))
Also i totally get that its hard finding stuff for saiki k which is the reason why i write for it in the first place, they totally deserve more recognition!! Feel free to send more requests in the future!!

Content: somewhat angsty but not really, i tried to be as vague as possible so as not to trigger anyone, reader suffers from trauma, DID, CPTSD, swearing, fluffy ending? slightly oc saiki
Summary: Saiki was used to listening to many types of thoughts, and at one point, nothing he heard surprised him. However when you came around, he was beyond confused. What sparks as a little curiosity might turn into something more.
✧・゚: ✧・゚:✧・゚: ✧・゚:✧・゚: ✧・゚:
ღNo matter what
He was used to it, or at least that's what he used to tell himself. Throughout the years he had heard all sorts of thoughts, at one point, he learned to tune them out when need be, having listened in on weird enough ideas that now don't surprise him anymore.
When you came in the picture, he was...baffled, to say the least. Confusing wasn't even close of a word to express how he felt. Your thought process was anything but simple. At times it'd be a fuzzy mess almost as if you lost part of your memory, other times, you'd think as if you were a completely different person, contradicting many of your previous thoughts. But what disturbed him most was the series of traumatic thoughts that would cross your mind. Flashbacks he realized in that moment.
In the beginning he felt annoyed, as per usual. Often times, he'd find you in class with a dazed expression, which to be frank, he had seen enough times to not give it a second thought. But then his attention would be caught when your mind would wander and you'd start thinking in a very unusual way. They were so unlike the person you presented to be, so much so that Saiki was left perplexed and in need to understand exactly what was going on.
The more it happened the more worried he'd be. There were days where you acted a certain way, and other days where you acted completely different. He could tell you weren't being fake trying to act differently for attention, after all, your thoughts lined up with the you acted and the things you said. Rather, it was the abrupt changes in your behaviour that had him thinking for far longer than he normally would.
Along the way, he also picked up how you'd flinch if you were in sudden physical contact, the way your shoulders would tense and the way your heart beat would speed up. Saiki wasn't stupid of course, he was aware that all of this was caused by some form of trauma.
He knew not to pry, yet his heart strings pulled everytime he saw you having a bad moment. So he began to follow you, in disguise of course, and even if he seemed like a stalker, he couldn't help it. Eventually he began to connect the dots, your reactions, behaviors, everything. It made sense now.
Unconciously, his words began to soften around you, his touch became gentler, he looked out for you in ways he had never done so with others. You began to notice but in no way did you mind, if anything, Saiki was someone you took great comfort in. What started of small slowly grew into something neither of you expected.
Of course, that didn't make it any less hard for either of you. Like right now. You were laying in Saikis bed, your head resting on his shoulder as you watched a movie, when suddenly a specific scene had triggered an anxiety attack. Your mind was racing through flashbacks of the many disturbing events you had gone through. Saiki was up almost immediately, having read your mind and sensed your reaction.
His touch was soft, his hands cupping your face so gently you'd think he was scared to break you, which he was. He was in no way someone who could comfort others easily. Nevertheless he tried his best. He attempted to lower your heart rate, rubbing small circles against your back as his other hand held the back of your head. No words were needed, they never were. He had, in a way, been there for you, way before you two even became a thing, so none of this was a surprise for either of you.
That didn't ease the guilt in your heart any less. You always felt bad. You knew Saiki could read you, literally. And well, it wasn't pretty. Countless times you had attempted to push him away, yet he never budged.
"'m sorry" you mumbled against his shoulder as your rested your head on it.
He cupped your face in his hands, pulling you to look at him.
`I won't let you push me away. The things you went through won't make me see you any differently, because to me you'll still be someone I cherish'
Your eyes welled up as you looked him deep in the eyes, finding nothing but love for you. Still cupping your face, he ran his thumbs under your eyes, wiping the tears away. He leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead.
'I love you'
"No matter what?"

A rather intriguing characteristic of psi battle is how it takes places in a mildly different timeline.
Although it happens after the cat tank arc, there's one key difference - Kuusuke did not make the device that removes Kusuo's powers.
This change is the driving force behind the plot, as in: pretty much everything happens because Kuusuke tried to find some other way to help Kusuo (which then backfired).
(That other way being creating fake worlds based on people's delusions.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Modifying the plot like that also allows for some good moments, like Kusuo having to decide between accepting such reality and few characters' reaction to that.
